Does anyone know of consultancies who do a good job of offering combined/seamless change management and IT services? I have been doing some research into this area and it seems that HR firms focus on the "people" issues and the IT consultancies on the "technology". The big firms (Accenture, IBM, CSC, EDS) appear to offer both but I'm not sure how integrated their services are.
Would appreciate any info/insights on this topic, thanks in advance! |

You'll see the IT-centric big firms give lip service to change management, but its usually just a prelude to a systems implementation. It extends the front end of the project a little, beefs up chargeable hours, and the deliverables are rarely more than a few org charts. Sometimes the change management resources also are brought in to play a role when a system is actually being rolled out to users.
Maybe it sounds too cynical, but I would be shocked to death if I ever saw a change management team be allowed to deliver recommendations that would undermine or disrupt an upcoming ERP implementation.
If you really want to do 'pure' HR or org change consulting, I'd at least look to get staffed in a practice that does that exclusively, if not at a firm that does it exclusively.
