Thanks for your response In terms of moving from technical to managerial/business consulting, how is the consulting arm of Oracle perceived i.e. would Oracle technical consultants be able to make an easy transition from technical to more functional/business |

You would probably have to do it in two steps, going from Oracle consulting to a Big 5 technical role, thence transfer to a managerial consulting role.
