Be careful if you are planning a job with Rose International. It is a small company out of St. Louis that doesn't have much on the ball. If you code, especially in Java or VB or Natural then you will probably be OK. The problems are these... Recruiters and Account Managers (who become your superviser) have no clue about what is going on in the field. I would venture to say that they can't spell HTML. Next, they often dump you at a site never to be heard from again for a few weeks letting you flounder with a client over whatever issues and problems arise...THEN come in and tell you that you are handling it all wrong. I've seen people on sites for weeks and months without even knowing who the site manager was! Their bench is ridiculous. I've seen as many as a half dozen folks sitting there doing nothing. Oh, you are allowed to get some CBTs for free...big deal. In the mean time you are trusting your work life to the Recruiters and Account Managers who don't know squat. Management seems to have a "holier than thou" attitude. They don't take criticism well at all. Suggestions are accepted, but quickly fall into the round file. Rose is owned by a woman from India and her husband. There is a definitely different work culture there. It is nothing for them to say, "You have to cancel your plans [that you have been working on for months] and work late until we get things done tonight....eventhough deadline is 2-3 days away. I have also heard rumors that people who leave have a hard time getting their last checks. To their credit there are some really cool people there. The vast majority of consultants are knowledgeable and personable. Rose has had a tendancy, due to its lacksadaisical account management methods, to miss the bad apples. As a result, important contracts have nearly been lost because of a few people screwing up and Rose not doing anything about it but then firing the jerks a year later.
Rose won't tell you what they are billing the client. Salaries are meager. You won't get rich there. BUT IF YOU DO JAVA....then you are a GOD!

worked there for many years - many wasted years. the owners of the company are out for one thing - themselves. i have one guess as to who posted the first reply to this message, and if you ever worked there, you will know too.
