I am interested in switching from my current position as a manufacturing engineer to a position designing computer systems (erp, supply chain etc.) for manufacturing environments. Since I do not know a great deal about the IT industry, I am not sure for what types of companies do this and what the positions are called. I am not interested in programming at all. I understand it but do not want to do it. I want to project manage implmentation and possibly even identify what the client is looking for and ensure that is what is delivered. I will have my MBA in ops in 2003, but need to know for internships and job hunting.
Somebody let me know what this is called.

Or else you will be a trial to the programmers on your team. A stint in support or test isn't a bad idea either, so you get the user perspective.
