I'm finishing my BS (Feb 02) after serving 6 yrs. USAF as an inventory management specialist and I would love to jump into a SCM position.
I am currently networking by recently becoming a member of APICS- I will begin seminars for my Certification as a Production and Inventory Manager (CPIM) in Nov. I am told that this certifacation will help me a great deal- not to mention getting to know all of the established SC managers in my district.
Check out APICS website @

Hope this helps.

Hi Guys -
You will probably not make any headway by sending in your resume. It just gets dumped in with everyone else. Also, most firms are only hiring to a project, so it is even tougher now.
My best suggestion is to register in their career websites, watch the postings, and when you find one that fits have someone on the inside of the firm do a employee referral on the job code. Then you should follow up with the recruiter, noteing the referral and the job code. This tactic has helped me get attention amongst all the other job seekers.
Hope this helps!
