Hi everyone,
I just graduated from an ivy league, starting a new career in IT consulting and need to pass the MCSE for my new job. I am familiar with computers but not exactly an expert. What advice can you give me to pass the MCSE, and how difficult will it be for someone in my position to pass it?
THanks! |

The short "boot camp" style courses that cram everything into your head in a couple weeks are for people who have at at least 6 months experience in an Enterprise environment. Coming from a non technical background, I would try to find a community college course that will give you time to ramp up gradually; you'll learn and retain more that way.
That's not to say you couldn't pass the tests after a boot camp, but would you be anything more than a "paper MCSE" 6 months later?
