I am currently an enrolled undergrad at a top 20 business school and plan on emphasizing in MIS. Ideally I would like to become an IT consultant, however, I am very confused as to what I should be doing right now. I know technical knowledge is important, however, it is difficult to obtain a technical related internship without prior experience. Is this all BS or is it just me? I am currently teaching myself VB, but I'm not sure that will even benefit me in the future. What can I do to improve my situation or to gain more knowledge? Should I change my emphasis all together? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks! |

spend your time learning technology... (see other post). But as you mature in your career, you will need to master basic people skills and logic. But that's later, learn skill now!
Breaking into the first deal is always difficult (so when you do, make sure you unequivocally succeed!)
