It takes a lot of work to catch up and stay caught up, but it's definately possible. Most of the best techies around come from areas other than computer science. |

I know LOTS of computer programmers who entered the profession for all kinds of miscellaneous backgrounds. Colleges graduate a lot less people with CS degrees than there is need and demand.
Computer programming, luckily, is something you can learn at home.
Learn how to program in VB and Access, get a first job that pays really low (even the lowest paying IT job pays more than going to school full time to get another useless degree), then after you have a year of experience doing that, you will find it easy to jump to a much higher paying job.
