I have narrowed my offers down to PwC MCS (56K + 8K bonus), AC (53500 + 5K bonus), and a data warehousing software company called Informatica.
Here is the compensation structure there:
-47K base
-3K signing bonus
-1000 stock options vested over 4 years
-bonus monthly pay based on utilization. first 10 days of month (2 weeks) covers your base. 15 days (75% utilization expected of you) you get $1000. If you work 100% utilization (20 days), you get paid $2000. basically, its $200/day worked over 10 days. This $200 is divided by 4 ($50), so if you work 10 hours a day you get paid $250, and so forth.
Informatica is leading-edge in its data warehousing software. All the big 5 use it. They do ETL and getting into analytics. Stock price is excellent hovering around high 90s and low 100s (NASDAQ: INFA), and has not been affected much by the downturn. Only 300 employees there and have about 150 consultants. Many of their higher-ups are Big 5 transplants and all are convincing me I will be happier here (shorter hours, more visibility, leadership potential, move up fast).
They have 5 weeks of training (1 week Data Warehousing, 1 week soft skills, 3 weeks in their software), and you are on a shadow engagement to learn, while not being billable, for about a month. Please someone let me know which route I should take. Informatica is hiring about 10-15 this winter from around the U.S. and they tell me I am their #1 pick. Which route would you choose? I want to be an exec, or have my own business some day, and am thinking more long term. Money and experience are most important to me. I want to get an MBA 3-4 years out. I need to let Informatica know by Dec. 11 and PwC by Dec. 18.

After the 5000+ layoffs at Accenture and the 2000+ layoffs at PWC. I wonder if this person is still working at Accenture?
