Message: Actimize's original business model was to sign up enough customers as possible in order to make the company an attractive take-over (or IPO) target. Their product development was a bit rough going in the early years (basically telling customers that still-in-the-planning-stage products were actually completed and ready for sale. But now that the have had a chance to complete many of their products and bundle them together as "solution" packages, the products are working pretty well and companies have a lot less to complain about. Their consulting area, on the other hand, never took off. There was never any leadership at the top of that group and there still isn't. Clients (as well as Actimize employees) have noticed this and usually go with third party consulting shops for implementations. Now that NICE has bought the company, let's see if Actimize will turn its focus towards marketing its compliance and AML software products and away from focusing on marketing itself as a company for sale. As far as trying to get back into the client-facing consulting business again, that might happen now that NICE has taken over - but the first thing they have to do is get some competent leadership to drive the consulting business.
