In Reply To: I am sorry that you had such a bad experience. But with as hurt as you seem over this, I am not too worried about you not joining the firm. You should be excited about the fact that your company was offering you that amount, but obviously there was a problem. Either you are not much of a negotiator or Hitachi did not believe they needed your skills. Also keep in mind the C2 position is usually meant for someone with a year to a year and a half of consulting experience. These bands are purely speculation. Message: I am not hurt, I am annoyed that companies are unprofessional and inconsiderate about the application process. I don't blame hitachi for their low salary ranges since that is how they choose to run their business. What I do blame them for is playing games with their hiring process and not giving me a response when I gave a polite and reasonable counter offer. In order words, the last phone call with them I gave them my bottom line in which I offered to take a pay decrease to go to HC... they failed to give me any response till this day. After 5 interviews, 2 which caused me to miss my job, and an initial job offer, I expect a response to a very reasonable counter-offer. I am glad that HC offered me a position but in all honesty, I had many opportunities (never went for an interview which didn't result in an offer). HC is the only employer that played the games and ended up not giving a response. I don't know if you lack the experience, intellect, or personality/appearances -- but don't sell yourself short with HC (salary-wise). There are much better opportunites out there that offer a great culture as well. Best of luck,
