I have a potential employment opportunity at North Highland, and I want to find out the good, bad, and ugly please. |

Sorry I did not reply sooner.
Very political company for its relatively small size.
The good: you are told you won't have to travel and you can make very good money but maybe not the same you did at your Big 4 firm
Bad: Yu'll have to do some traveling if you want to get a name for yourself and make extra money. Also, it is your typical pyramid scheme so if you are underneath someone with similar skill sets you will be stuck for a long time. Also, the company culture is very political and anything bad you say about the company will get back to sr management and it will stay on your record for a long time. Atlanta rules everything and if you are in a satellite office you will feel detached from corporate.
The Ugly: Senior Management is awful, they make money and scapegoat all else. New CEO has been running the company for years and recenlty named officially is a bad guy. EESOP plan is great for those who got there early but the "stock price" moves real slowly now and the shares arent given out nearly as freely either. Not a retirement plan....
Company is much more of an IT shop than a strategy firm, though they obscure that the best they can. Do not join if you are not coming in as a VP and even then i would think twice. I was a Director at another Big firm and came to NH as a principal. You'd have thought I was an entry level consultant the way the VP's continually treat the difference between the two. Unless you are a VP you will feel you are getting screwed financially come the first quarterly bonus. Oh, and did I tell you that all the VP's are back stabbers and self promoters because it is basically part of the culture Reardon has fostered?
