if you don't mind, could you tell me what hitachi offered you was? im planning on applying there .. also, did you happen to know what the salary bands were for the C1, C2, SC1 positions?

According to them, the C2 maxes out at 62k...
I can only estimate, C1 - 55-59k C2 59-62k SC1 62k - ?
This is based on their honesty when trying to justify their extremely low offer. I can't imagine why anyone of any quality would want to work at these wages? Also, once you spend a 1-2 years there, I doubt anyone stays considering the market rates right now.
If you want to get some consulting experience and don't care about salary or getting the name-brand company on your resume, then HC might be right. Good luck.
