I have over four years of consulting experience at a big five and a boutique consulting firm. I have two job offers, one in industry and the other one at another boutique consulting firm. The one position is for JP Morgan as a Business Analyst. I'm expecting an offer of 80K + potential 8%-20% bonus. The other company is offering 85K + potential 15% bonus.
I'm not really concerned about the salary difference as I am with my career path. I've been hopping from consulting firm to consulting firm and have not been too happy with my roles and assignments. My question is, should I take the consulting position and work for another year or 2 before I jump to industry, or should I take the lower paying industry job and be happy with a 9-5, non-traveling position. What have been people's experiences in regards to leaving consulting and going into industry jobs?
