Im sure that Andy is a smart guy and all and I cant speak with any degree of certainty about their strategy practice in the south; all I can say is that this company DOES NOT TREAT ITS EMPLOYEES WELL; And that should be your main acid test when considering employers. Especially if you are considering competing offers, which I hope you are
As in any company there are going to be some very nice people and some real assholes. At this company the collective personalities of all the nice people cannot outweigh the malevolence of just one or 2 assholes. Its time for the minority to try and provide some ballast
I do know they profess to do a lot of work in the food business and a lot of work in telecom; (C&W) The Financial Services practice tanked with the departure of one of the most arrogant, egocentric, megolamaniacs of all time. But it was not his leaving that made the practice tank. It was tunneling down a worm hole BECAUSE he was there.
This is all about an indigenous corporate culture that just plain stinks. So make your decisions based on the recruiter's pitch but take it with a grain of salt. The recruiter who hired me in NJ lasted about 3 months I think so I dont even have anyone to go back to in order to complain
Consider that over a given 6 month time frame approximately 35% of the company turned over. |

Do you mind if I ask you how long you've been there and which practice are you with, and the type of work you are doing there?
35% over 6 months is indeed high for a small consulting firm but the organization that I currently work for has a turnover of > 20% with 16,000 employees. Most consulting firms do have high turnover rates because of their affinity in hiring folks who are insecure about their positions and compensating them more for it.
While the firm does not treat its employees well, I am sure there are some folks who would say otherwise. I don't know. I am just playing devil's advocate and try to identify all that I can about the firm before I make any decisions.
They do profess to do a lot of work in the food industry and telecom but I think that is only limited to the sugar company, the communications provider and a large beverage company.
Give me more of your straight dope dude!
