Thank you for your assistance!!!!
I expect to be getting an offer soon from a large IT consulting/software firm to work with the SVP in managing the business. There are about 200 people nationwide and the position is a Director level in Philadelphia. The Director level is the same level as the people who manage the offices (10-20 staff). The SVP and HR describe the position as having a huge impact on the business, high visibility and very important to the growth of the business. The position also requires a significant amount of travel (50%). My background is not common and I am a very strong match to their requirements. They seem to really want me in this position.
I was given an early indication of the offer and it seems low. The offer is $100,000-$105,000 with a bonus potential of 15%. The usual other benefits apply. I expected the offer to be $110-$125k plus bonus.
I would appreciate your feedback on the offer and approaches to negotiating a large increase. (Although laid off six months ago, I have a consulting gig through the end of the year so I am not desparate).
