From personal experience, I believe office Christmas parties are great! Ten years ago, I worked in the Pentagon which was the largest office building in the world. During Christmas, offices would have their parties in the corridors so that people from other offices could join the festivities. Our office party continued into the night and moved to a large office with a bar and music brought in especially for the party. I observed an extremely attractive man standing at the bar. On impulse, I approached the man and kissed him several times. (He didn't mind) After kissing him, I was very embarrassed and swiftly departed. The following week, I saw him in one of the hallways and he smiled the most beautiful smile. He began attending meetings held in the office I was assigned (he later said he used any plausible reason to attend these meetings because he wanted to see me). Because our relationship would be taboo, we were cautious. We began dating a few months after the party. Our relationship did not help either one of our careers, but we have had much success in subsequent careers and have been very happily married for eight years. |
