Here's a good (true) story.
Two associates from the same Los Angeles law firm are dating but going to extremes to keep it from others in the office. They never go out together places where there are lots of people, don't tell anyone at the firm, etc.
One day they go for a hike in the Santa Monica Mountains. The trails back there are pretty extensive and they go a bit too far and it starts getting dark. They can't make it back in time and are forced to call for help. The parks department or sheriffs department ends up sending a helicopter in to pick them up and the press picks up on this. The press sends its own helicopters, films the rescue and then has a camera crew at the place where they dropped the two law firm lovers. Their secret was out in a big way.

Dear LawExpert:
As an attorney myself, it amazes me how couples become "public", despite their best efforts. Most couples do their best to stay undercover, feeling that it's just their business. However, once they go or somehow become public, it turns out that some 2/3rds (depending on the survey) of their coworkers had already figured out what was going on, although respecting that the couple had tried to keep it quiet. Usually, couples keep it quiet, at least because they want to be sure that they have a long-lasting relationship before the news gets out (or they feel that some of their colleagues might not be that supportive). Good Story.
