You, of course, need to do what's right for you and only you know that answer. A few thoughts if it was me in that position...
1..office or not, I would seriously question a man who would expect that of me. Unless and until I could get it totally resolved with him, I would not marry him.
2.. the perspective that requires you to switch jobs is borne from a society that devalues womyn and their work. Is it a company policy? (You said, one of us will have to go) If not a company policy, what's wrong with trying to work together? You've been doing it for 3 years anyway. I know lots of couples who do it successfully.
3..I would take comments from others into account, but base my decision on my own philosophy, ideals, and love. What is right for one couple may not be right for another couple.
