Several years ago when I was working as an investment banker in Dallas, this girl I had just met came up to my office around 10pm. Everyone had left and the only light in my office was from my computer screen and the lights of Dallas 40 stories below. She sat on my desk and I stood in front of her giving her the treatment. This girl looked behind me at the computer on my credenza and saw my personal balance sheet. This was in the wild days of Texas real estate and I owned lots of commercial properties. However, only the asset side of my balance sheet was on the screen and this girl, not being a rocket scientist, thought that I was worth over $30 million. I never showed her the liability side of my statement (which was over $30 million), meaning that this girl was screwing a pauper! It served this Texas golddigger right, although she ended up being a good friend...
