My boss, who is a senior level executive gets rip roaring drunk at almost every business dinner that he hosts or attends. He becomes verbally abusive or rude to all dinner guests, and sometimes actually becomes physically threatening. His drinking is starting to noticably influence his moods which were never stable to begin with. He has begun to drink at the office, sometimes being "in the bag" by 5:00 before we go out to a business function. My problem is, coming from a family with similar problems, I feel that this is putting alot of strain on my work performance as well having to deal with this all over again. I have had my own battles with alcohol and I no longer drink yet I am berated for not joining in the bacchanal.
Any suggestions? |

Having had more than my share of bosses who were screamers, drunks, and god knows what else, the only advice I can give you is to GET OUT NOW while you can. Trust me, no boss is perfect, but there are enough reasonable ones out there that it isn't too easy to track them down. And ya know what? The screamers and abusers just can't seem to keep anybody working for them... wonder why?
