Ever since one of my co-workers was promoted to manager in my department he has misabused his so called authority.
Its funny to see the way people change with a little power. He now treats people like their peons and makes things that are really no big deal into office meetings to make him seem more important.
But you see I just got into grad school, so I don't need to deal with his f****** Bull S*** anymore so F*** him!
I can't wait to see the look on his face when I tell him I am quitting. Yesss! :-) There's no way they will be able to replace me for the amount they pay me. Yess I got out just in time baby.
Screw Office Politics. I don't need that crap anymore. |

These posting seem a little angry. All right, very angry. I've only been in the workforce a short time (little over 1 yr), but I've found that if you work hard, good things will come to you. In my 1+ years, I've gotten a nice raise & bonus and switched jobs based on merit (not because I didn't like my old job but because I found a better opportunity). I know I've been lucky to some extent, but I think that office politics is overblown. If you do well, you'll succeed. If you work somewhere so out of whack that politics and nepotism reigns, leave! (I know this is easier said than done, and harder still if you have a spouse & children depending on your income, but unemployment is at such a low that anyone presentable should be able to move laterally in almost any industry.) I know people are going to blast me as a punk kid (and worse), but I think everyone should quit whining, get to work, and if you don't like where you are, get out!
