My high ranking boss is involved in an ongoing affair with his "assistant" which has gone on for a few years elevating her from originally a secretary to a created position that never existed before where she is in charge of all of our personal records, budgets etc. She also has been given the unofficial "power behind the throne" slot where she is immune to any criticism, or at least she feels that this is the case. They are both extremely volitile and moody so they fight and curse at each other in front of the staff of this large corporation. She treats subordinates and people above her with the same disdain but is and has been getting away with it other than pretty much everyone talking behind their backs. Most of us are waiting for the ax to fall in one way or another. My boss is married with children yet none of us has ever seen them although we socialize and he is still living at home. I know this is an old story but it has caused a good amount of distruction to our department causing people to leave etc. The clincher is that he has a real "assistant" who is run through the ringer daily by his unofficial one. Anybody been there and how do you cope with this kind of behavior? |

As they say " every dog has it's day " but when the crash comes it won't be pretty for either of them.
In fact I would launch the first strike. If he is married it is not unrealistic to expect that his wife will find out ( so make it known to her - via mail/telephone or picture) or focus on the assisstant - everyone has a weak point....you just have to find it.
