I understand the principle of office politics, however, I try to stay away from it for years. Somehow, I don't think I can avoid the kind of politics going on and around the office regardless how much I like my job and how good at my work. Is there any way to practically learn these things? Please share advice. |

Regarding this topic: Nepitism is a big factor in our office and office politics are their first cousins. You all are right, but it is sometimes too difucult to avoid the office politics when you are constantly faced with the unfair practices of the office and the hiring and promoting of family and their closest friends, neighbors and ethnic counterparts. I was always under the impression that one should start on the bottom and work their way up. Not in our office. I really believe that the upper management, which by the way are all related one way or the other, believes that we are really stupid and blind to what has been going on for years. Now, all the possible "big jobs" that pay are occupied by Aunts, Nephews, sons and so on. Why do they then strive for the rest of us idiots to work towards advancement? Advance to what? Office politics will be part of my life until I leave my job - unfortunatley.
Thanks for allowing for my imput.
