Message: If you're looking for the upper echelon of salary ranges in pharma, Novartis isn't one of them. In fact, the salary and bonus structure at this pharma giant is average at best. They budget less than 4% year over year pay raises regardless of how well your review went. Departments are literally fighting over this pool money while upper management cleans up. They recently cut travel and training budgets across the board and constantly increase useless IT project and consultant expenditures. To top it all off the company marked its 10 year anniversary by giving out a single sugar cookie to all of its employees at lunch. This company has profited well over $35 billion in the past 10 years and all they can spare is a single sugar cookie for the people who got them there. It's laughable. If this trend continues I forsee a mass exodus of talent to other pharma companies.
