I just replied to your other message.
No overtime, not strictly speaking, anyway. If you're working lots of overtime and doing a decent job, though, your year-end bonus will reflect your efforts and contribution to the bottom line.
As to the magnitude of bonuses, I'll have to answer in a roundabout way. We have gone through a little bit of re-alignment in terms of title structure and compensation. To give you background, NCI has grown largely by acquisition over the past 5 years. That led to confusion, since people from different legacy companies had different expectations regarding comp and titles. As a result, everything was a mishmash of confusing titles and sometimes nonsensical compensation.
So, last year, the company made an effort to standardize everything, to get everybody on a level playing field. This coming round of annual bonuses (next month) will be the first under the new system, so I can't answer specifically, but I think that the range you mentioned seems very roughly in the ballpark. Of course, personal performance will always be a factor, so it's never a promise. If you work 100 hours a week, but suck, you won't get a big bonus.
If you are interested in litigation consulting, then now is a great time, and NCI is particularly well-positioned to capitalize on this. I don't want to sound like an ad, but at a high-level, we're in a sweet spot right now.
Full disclosure - I'm leaving NCI to go back to bschool in the fall, b/c I don't want to be in litigation consulting. But good luck - it can be pretty interesting. |
