In Reply To: Everything is negotiable, to some extent. If the offer is a LOT lower, and your driving force is money, then you have likely made up your mind already. At entry level, I recommend looking for the growth opportunities between companies to be the decision factor. As for grad school, you'll have a considerably larger pool of opportunities at a consulting company (including many industries) than you would have with an internal consulting role at one company. Regarding exit opportunities, do you mean into industry? As a more junior member of the team, your prospects to be employed with a client are lower than for someone with more experience. Having said that, if you make yourself indispensible at the end of the project and get a job offer from a client - good for you!
Message: If you are entry level and asking them about MBAs already, that's a no-no. Whether or not you choose to leave NCI at some point and go out and fetch an MBA should not be entered into the interview process. And, if you're entry level, you have minimal negotiating power. You may be able to get $5-7K more, but that's about it. I would ask for about a $3K signing bonus. NCI is known for lower compensation when comparing to legacy firms. The Director will appreciate your tenacity re: negotiation, and the worst he/she can say is "No."
