I will be interning in Morgan Stanley Fixed Income this summer. I was wondering if anyone knew how the general placement process for interns works? Do we have to interview with various desks, or do we just request desks prior to the start of the internship? Also, how likely is it that you will get the desk of your choice? If I am interested in trading and request only trading desks, is it possible that I still might be placed on a sales desk or in research?
In my interviews, I said I was not sure whether I preferred sales or trading. After more though, I am sure that I would prefer to trade.
