I have been asked to interview for a financial advisor position in the Southeast. This message board has been great in giving me insight on this career and ML. I am in my 30's, female, married with a toddler and planning to have another in several years. I have an MBA,worked in corporate for a while and now have my own business that pays a small salary compared to what I use to make. Thankfully, my husband is carrying the load right now. We have a good network of people I can talk to (a number of millionares and business owners). But I can't work 12 hour days 5 and certainly not 6 days a week. Is it possible to meet Merrill's hurdles and only work say...7:30-7:00 Mon-Wed, 7:30-5:00 Thurs and Fri, and a few hours from home on the weekends? I look forward to hearing your thoughts. |

i interned with a group of FA's in Merrills new york office in the world financial center, hours were not bad. they usually left the office around 530, got in around 830-9 and never worked on the weekends. I think the first post was more geared towards investment banking, which merrill's hours are bad, but so are everyone elses.
