Message: Job Title: Analyst, GMI Business Development Location: New York, NY, US Organization Name: Global Markets & Investment Banking Business Development Group Brief Description: Analyst, GMI Business Development Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be part of a small team focused on the strategic direction of Merrill Lynchs Global Markets and Investment Banking (GMI) business, which offers investment banking, trading and capital markets services to Merrills worldwide institutional client base. The GMI Business Development Group's responsibilities include analysis of mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, strategic private equity investments, restructurings and cost containment projects. Analysts will play a key role in these initiatives, including responsibilities for financial modeling, external due diligence, structuring and operational issues (i.e., accounting, tax, legal, technology, HR, etc.) and presentations to senior GMI and firm executives. S/he should have at least 1 year of experience, ideally in a Finacial Institutions Group. Minimum of two-year commitment expected. Qualifications Bachelors degree in finance or accounting from a top-ranked school At least 1-2 years experience as an Investment Banking analyst (previous experience with Financial Institutions or M&A is a plus) Very strong financial modeling and valuation skills Ability to comfortably interact with internal business clients and senior management Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word and Powerpoint
