In Reply To: Does anyone know what the norm is in regards to "experienced hires" staff for AVP/VP type roles when it comes to either, (A) being extended an offer (how long does it take?) and (B) if an offer is not extended will either your potential boss / interviewer or HR let you know that you are not being considered for the position any further? To sum it up, interviewed for one avp position (3 plus hours of direct interview by hiring manager)and HR called me 3 1/2 weeks post interview and told me a "a final decision will be made in the next few weeks and then an offer will be extended".... does that mean I am still a candidate or do they wait to tell any/all candidates at once if they are hired or not? Second position was for an VP role in a different office - another good final interview lasting 2/12 hours by hiring manager. Asked to provide prior work product at end of meeting to see extent of capabilities and the materials would be returned as they were "property" of another employer and had to be returned - that was two weeks ago and neither a phone call (good or bad) or material returned. Sorry for the exceptionally long post - anyone care to take a stab at an opinion on current status / Merrill norms?
Message: sounds like they may be dragging you along based on other offers they may have extended, though it could be that they're waiting for post-bonus attrition numbers... do you happen to know salary and bonus info for IBD execution type roles at ML? thanks
