I know the salary range varies based on location, etc., but what can a new graduate with a little editing earn for various types of companies? Also, everyone seems to want the big editorial jobs at famous magazines or book publishing companies. I want to know what to know to look/work for. What do the top level editors earn? Is there more money in magazines, newspapers, or book publishing companies? What is more lucrative and reliable work - editing, freelance writing, or having a regular column? Are there any good books out there that explain this stuff? Thanks in advance for your advice!
