If you go to the Business Week web site and check the selectivity of Insead versus other premier MBAs, you'll see that selectivity is pretty similar (low 20%, excl. HBS, but then again everyone applies to HBS...).
As for the quality (*) of students, I have nothing to complain about.
The main characteristic of Insead versus all other MBAs is the much higher diversity of students. No single nationality accounts for more than 12-14% of the whole class. The "Western World", ie. Western Europ and North America, accounts for about 50% of the class. And this discounts the diversity you can find in a team consisting of 1 French, 1 Canadian, 1 Greek and 1 German (oh boy!!!) ...
Finally, wit regards to the perseption of Insead within McK, I very much doubt that anyone will look you down if your MBA comes from there. Ater all, it is one of the MBAs sponsored by all (to my knowledge) the European offices of the firm...

(*) [highly non-PC] Only 20-ish % of female students, and not a lot in the area... Go to Stanford: More girls in the program, a pool of undergrad students, plus all the girls of California... sigh... ;o) |

Thanks for the reply Stan. Exactly the answer I was hoping to hear :). Sucks that I'll have to move out of California :( but Europe should be fun too!
