To Anyone, esp. ex-EM, TCO, HBS 2003: my 3 questions...
How do APDs compare with MBAs at McK. Are they at any disadvantage considering:
a. higher mean age
b. ?lesser "core business" knowledge
c. ?lesser interpersonal skills useful in business and consulting
What kinda value do they add to McK? Is the associate to partner ratio equal among MBA and APD associates or not? I'm an MD and interested in joining McK, but just want to know whether it would involve being at a disadvantage compared to MBAs.....
would be glad to get some insightful answers.
cheers, eom |

After a study or two, people will assume you are a fellow HBS MBA if you give them half a chance. And they really don't care.
In the end, it sorta depends on you. I never really found people that I respected in the sense of complete candor.
Oh...on exit, you're better off having the MBA.
BTW, MBA/McK is a great combination and has been for several years. If you go to McK, don't do anything so silly as to try to broaden yourself by working on non-medical stuff. Stick with pharma/medical devices. You learn the same general crap anyhoo...
