Hi seihin,
Find your posts very helpful. :) Maybe you can help with this question...
Background: I'm currently completing my PhD in Information Systems, specialising in collaborative supply chain systems. I have no industry experience, but have some internship experience and lot of tutoring experience. Have gone straight from Bachelors to a PhD via an extra year in an Honours program (australian system). So, i've been in the uni system for a long time... will be 30 end of this year.
Does age matter in applying as an associate (or junior associate), especially wrt to level of industry/academic experience (or lack thereof)?
Thanks.

30 is not unusually old for a new associate. There was a thread about this some time ago, I think late twenties was more the norm, but plenty of PhDs come in around 30 with no industry experience. Several members of my starting class were well over 30 when they joined. You might find yourself working with EMs (and even partners) who are a few years younger than you, but if you don't have a big issue with that, you should be fine.
Good luck!
