I'm honestly trying to find out if I have any chances of getting into the Business Technology Office with my credentials:
I have an MBA but not from a B-school with a 3.84 GPA. I also have 10 years experience at management level in technology with a mid-sized regional bank. I have a successful track record with my experience and can easily demonstrate how I have led change and made a difference in my years of experience.
I'm wondering if my:
1) school reputation
2) lack of global experience
kills my chances. McKinsey is and has always been my top choice ever since I decided I wanted to enter the consulting field. I read the McKinsey Quartely regularly and admire the views of writers. I've applied once but didn't hear anything. I am willing to start at the bottom again for a company like this but I'm just wondering if my chances are realistic.
Any feedback would be much appreciated. |

I'd say it'd be very hard to get into the process then you had best wow them during the interviews etc. With your work experience your best bet would probably be to go in as an experienced hire. Lastly, I don't really understand how you have an MBA but it's not from a B-School. As I'm sure you know McK recruits from only the best schools any exceptions to this are very very rare. This is probably your biggest issue.
