In Reply To: Unfortunately I know very little about the FA position. Speaking to a partner, the GC region business has increased by at least 40% each year since 2003, and I was told this will be reflected on the number of recruit. I heard (this is not verified in any ways) they aim to get 10 analyst rank equivalents this year, and historically they have never met their recruitment target number. So my crude guestimate: total recruit for this year at analyst level is 10 ish, compsing of 6-7 BAs and 3-4 FAs. As far as i know for 2006, at least 6 BA has already accepted offer for the HK office, leaving around 3 places for FAs. As I have mentioned before, 80 BAs were interviewed and they aimed to hire 10% of that (this year). I guess it would be safe to assume around the same %age for FAs. So 30 in 1st round could mean their target is 3 (agreeing to my logic in the previous para). Altho mind u again, they almost never meet their target. So it could be as low as 2 or 1? But none of these I'm certain about. Inputs welcome
Message: When I left the office after the second interview in the 1st round, I thought I totally screwed it and would definitely not pass it.... the interviewer had to hint heavily so that i was back on the right track. Plus, I totally forgot about some wellknow concepts like NPV....i also learned from insider info that the interviewer thought my finance background was weaker than expected (and, i was applying for FA post!) But still I've passed it.....and am dying for any useful tips on case interviews. Can anyone help?
