I desperately need help in deciding which offer to accept. I have two offers in Northern Europe (both contracts lies unsigned on my desk), one from ACN, entry level analyst in FS (not IT-consultant) and one entry level at McKinsey.
Is it true that I will work similarily to an IT-consultant at ACC? Are the hours longer at McK? What about travels?
The decision is complicated by the fact that I am to become a father the month before I am to start, and I would like to see my kid once in a while. On the other hand, McKinsey has been a goal of mine since starting business school.
Please help me to weigh the pros and cons with regards to the nature of the assignments and the work/life balance. I should also mention that I will get paid OT with Accenture (excangeable for free time), something I will not with McK.
Thanks in advance!!! |

JOIN McKinsey!!!!! Don't mean to offend anyone on this message board, but I have years experience dealing with ACN/IRI and the likes. McKinsey will take you to much further in your long-term career than ACN (especially now ACN may be sold off by VNU). However, if you are looking more for work-life balance, ACN may be your choice. It's up to you what your priority is in life......
p.s. ACC at ACN deals with advance analytics, not much traveling since they have ACC groups through out the U.S.
