I've been here for 9 years and it's been the best choice I ever made. Even if you just go to McKinsey for a couple of years, you'll be ahead. If you turn it down, it'll be really tough to get back in down the road so I'd give it a try now. I have two kids and am married and have found it possible to strike a good balance of work and life. That's true not just now as a Partner but also as an Associate. In any given week, this might not be true, but over a year, it definitely is. Good luck. |

On a related note, since so many people ask the "consulting vs IB" question... Do you know of any IBankers that have a family life (hours spent per week with kids/wife) that is comparable to yours? Did you have a choice between Consulting and IB? If so, do you have any regrets? THanks!
