Please help me with estimation of my feature chances to pass the screening and be invited for the interview with McKinsey (see p.4 below). Any advices will be much appreciated. Any comments also could be sent to Go_str@Yahoo.com
1. Why
What and how Firm performs (as far as I know; I read a lot and looked through several engagements results) makes me passionate with its approach. I feel this is a work where I??m able to contribute best of all. I love cases and am quiet good with them (highly assessed projects studies, successful recruiting interviews ??), have my stories about leadership/achieving/impact.
2. Problem
I suppose now I??m not ready to pass interviewing with The Firm (or /B/B).
(hope it??s not fear of stretch but wish to take challenge in best form.. I was a box champion so I know what could happened if you unprepared : ).
Based on estimations: not good enough current level of English, speed with quant and m.b. lack of business experience
Data points used:
- result of BCG recruiting process (was invited but wasn??t succeeded; problems with English and quant),
- posts of successful applicants/examples of ??ace?? case answers (feel lack of not a common since but broad business knowledge they applied)
3. Current state
I am in Russia, was graduated from top-tier technical institute (GPA 5.0),
have 3+ year of experience with Russian company which is one of the world leaders in its industry, was responsible/participated (PM/team lead/expert) in project such as: processes performance improvements, lean operations/corp projects portfolio management optimization /headquarters restructuring etc.
4. Feature scenarios (before applying, for next ~3 years):
a. career in B4 (m.b. will have offer for corporate governance + m.b. operations)
b. career in industry (internal performance improvement projects)
c. smth else?
addition to a-c ?? m.b. I??ll try to receive top-tier MBA, but not sure.
