I desperately need help in deciding which offer to accept. I have two offers in Northern Europe (both contracts lies unsigned on my desk), one from ACN, entry level analyst in FS (not IT-consultant) and one entry level at McKinsey.
Is it true that I will work similarily to an IT-consultant at ACC? Are the hours longer at McK? What about travels?
The decision is complicated by the fact that I am to become a father the month before I am to start, and I would like to see my kid once in a while. On the other hand, McKinsey has been a goal of mine since starting business school.
Please help me to weigh the pros and cons with regards to the nature of the assignments and the work/life balance. I should also mention that I will get paid OT with Accenture (excangeable for free time), something I will not with McK.
Thanks in advance!!! |

I am currently with ACN. There is no comparison. Go to McKinsey. Even if you hate it, it will open doors. ACN will close a few (due to it being very IT centric) and frustrate you if you want to progress quickly through your career.
