Hello,
I have three years of Investment Banking experience under my belt with transaction experience in a number of different financial environments, including capital markets, corporate finance and financing advisory work. Moreover, I have worked in North America, Europe and Asia during this three year period.
I am in the process of applying to McKinsey for an Associate position in its Corporate Finance department - is three years (without an MBA / postgraduate equivalent) enough? Do McKinsey place a premium on breadth of experience and/or previous international experience? And would anyone have any further details on McKinsey's Corporate Finance department - general or specific?
Many thanks in advance for any comments / guidance

You really need an advanced degree to become an Associate. As other posters have said on other threads, that doesn't need to be an MBA. Given the brief description of your background, I'd say you should think about getting an MBA from a top school (and not Wharton, since you're already a banker).
Sure, an MBA costs $100K, but it is a great life. Key reason to do it is that it will significantly increase your option value (which means McKinsey, as well as other opportunites).
