I too would prefer hiring a Deloitte, Accenture, etc. guy / girl who's not afraid to roll up the sleeves, step into the mud and actually get things done.
Sure, smartness is important... but I could care less if a potential recruit is in top 1% or top 10%. Results are what count. |

Accenture, IBM BCS, Booz WTB (majority of Booz business)and most of Deloitte Consulting are technology/IT implementation houses. They do 'staff' level work.
M/B/B are strategy firms, doing board-room level 'line' work.
You obviously manage the local burger drive-in and only care about how fast one can flip a beef patty. F500 folks look for slightly different skillsets and backgrounds.
