for the advice.
As much as I see the logic of hiring top school MBAs because of the pre-screen and taugh programs, I still believe there are professionals out there who - like me - have Harvard potential but took other great opportunities for MBAs based on more than just "I want to apply to McKinsey so I have to be in an top 5 school!"
At the end of the day I still think McK is a great company that does hire talent so I'll go on with my life and make the most of whichever offer I accept. As far as I'm concerned, it will be McK's loss if I decide not to reapply.
(Probably healthy attitude too :)) |

If you weren't willing to attend a top 5 MBA program--a "sacrifice" of only two years--to improve your chances with McK, why would you make a potentially long-term career decision based on this criterion?
I'm not trying to be antagonistic, just pointing out an inconsistency. If you're happy with your choice of MBA program because of the "other great opportunities," then you should make a career decision based on a similar breadth of criteria.
