In Reply To: Don't you guys feel a little bit uncomfortable about discussing the interview process in specific detail in an open public board? Personally, I would never do this because it is wrong to do so. Also, if McK recruiter or B schools for that matter (some not all) found out that some are sharing ??insider info,?? that would result in automatic ding and/or disciplinary action because it is ethically wrong.
Message: on what type of info you are giving. I personally believe that information such as you have about 30 case-type questions to answer in less than 2 hours is ok. When you start with employee turnover, price increases, etc... i guess it's a matter of personal ethical values. Some will do it, some won't. Honestly though, all you need is some empathy. If you were McKinsey, interviewing for whatever position people of different backgrounds, what do you want to see? Super knowledge and applicaiton of financial ratios? Or common sense, business astute answers that show the potential? I'm not an expert so I welcome the advice of experts in this matter :)
