Hi,
How big is the Hong Kong office? And what types of industry does the office focus on? Is it possible to transfer to other China offices from Hong Kong? |

From what I heard:
Hong Kong office: Consulting positions 50-ish (20+ with ranks Assoc or lower), support staff 50-ish
Shanghai: Consulting positions 100+
Beijing: Consulting positions 200+
Taipei: no idea (does anyone know?)
I guess transferring policy is the same firmwide. Chatting with a consultant who recently transferred from Johannesberg to London, he told me the process was not "simple", but if you have valid reasons, the Firm "makes it happen".
Most HK BAs are immediately subjected to the compulsory "Beijing Office Severence Plan" upon joining -- I'm not entirely sure how this plan works, but it sounds like HK consultants are in Beijing A LOT.
