Hello new hire,
I have received an offer too and my background check is taking upwards of 3 weeks, even though I was told it should only be a few days? I'm an international candidate too and I'm getting quite nervous, especially because I have to drop my second option for a job this weekend! I have asked the HR in a subtle way and they told me there is only one outstanding item..out of thirteen. Should I be worried?
By the way I dont remember committing any felonies, and I should certainly have a decent credit rating- I as able to get a mortgage. Could they be trying to reach my undergrad institution in my home country? I can certainly see why that would take time. I also already earned a US graduate degree |

As long as you did not lie about anything. I have a friend whose background check took 8 weeks as his school in another country took its sweet time to okay his degree.
