I applied for an internship too but didn't get it and I was advised to apply for a full time position. I did not- I assumed someone was just trying to be nice. Mck contacted me later on to attend a recruiting event and one thing led to another and I now have an offer to join the firm this Fall..... and by the way I never did "officially" apply for the permamnent position. I am an APD too, trying hard to finish up a PhD this year. |

It sounds like I have to reapply though. They told me I could use the same essay (and PEI examples) next time, but I should submit an updated resume online when the next recruiting period begins.
For anyone interested in my feedback:
I essentially did everything right (structure, identifying main drivers, quant. problems, thoughtful analysis), but I didn't push for subtleties and creative solutions unless the interviewer asked for them. Next time I should automatically explain my thinking/ answers and give broader or more creative responses without waiting for any interviewer prodding.
I think because of the Q&A format of the interview, I fell into the trap of not driving the discussion.
