In Reply To: Got an offer from McK, but cannot accept it... I'm an APD, searching for a job for the first time. Was offered another job in Dec and couldn't extend the deadline. Fearing for not having a job after graduation, I accepted it. The offer letter says that either the company of myself can back up at any time. But I think it would be very unethical to do so. I like McK and the position here SO MUCH MORE though. So if I work in the other firm for a couple of years, would I still have a chance to come back and work in McK? Any advice or suggestions would be highly appreciated! Thanks~~
Message: I might be put in a similar situation although it has not yet happened and I sought the advice of some friends and business professionals. I too feel there is an unethical side to interviewing/accepting an offer shortly after you started somewhere else. The best answers I got so far were: "would they think twice about firing you if they found a better or cheaper candidate?" and "do you think it would be unethical from their part as a company?" It's not personal, it's just business and usually the more honest you are with yourself and others the easier it is to overcome moments like this one. Hope this helps!
