wouldn't burning bridges and ruining one's professional reputation be a horrible thing to do? especially when i owe my mentor so much already and can't possibly repay his kindness (for many things unrelated to the job itself)? |

Salvage that bridge as best you can and build 50 more at McK.
Of course take this with a grain of salt - only you know how important that bridge is.
If it's say a bridge of the Atlantic I'd probably want to save it. Does it just cross a river? - Go with McK.
